Romanticizing your Life

Romanticize : Taking in every simple moment & noticing the beauty around you

When do you feel your best?

Too many of us settle for being the passengers in our own lives. We come to terms that our daily life is presented to us, with to-do lists, work, school, chores, or whatever season you find yourself in and the stress and responsibility that comes with it. We dream of the weekends and vacations and dread the mundane Mondays and our daily reality. Can I challenge you with a mind shift? You actually can control these things. You have the ability to add things into your day that are LIFE GIVING and enjoy every day, instead of waiting for the reprieve of weekend plans or planned vacations.

“Your life is as good as your mindset.”

How to enjoy the everyday moments

The first step to enjoying the everyday is realizing that each day is made up of a lot of little choices that add up to be your reality. I am not going to sit here and sugar coat it for you that you won’t be busy and that your to do list won’t keep piling up, but you are lying to yourself if you say you have no time at all. We have to make time for what matters.

Find the little things that bring you joy and add those things into your day. The key to this is taking the time to really spend time with you, to be in tune with the experiences that are life giving to you and the things that drain you. Once you are aware of that, you can act accordingly to integrate the life giving moments and steer away from those draining things that are in your control. You must add the little joys into your day to coexist with the responsibilities that are required of you. Whether it be listening to that one song that always gets you in a good mood, that coffee you look forward to having in the morning, the workout that makes you feel better, or even going outside and getting some fresh air, whatever your little things are, you just need to implement them, and give yourself the permission to enjoy it. Sometimes we overcomplicate it and feel as though it needs to be some huge vacation or refresh, when in reality, its those little habits that build your life.

The moral of the story is . . .

You must play a part in your story

You have an active role to play in your story—one that’s far too important to overlook. Lean into the beauty that surrounds you. Allow yourself to get excited about new opportunities, to cherish the people walking beside you, and to remember that it’s often the smallest moments that leave the biggest impact.

This simple yet powerful mindset isn’t just feel-good advice—it’s actually grounded in science. One of the most effective ways to counter feeling triggered is by noticing the glimmers in your life and letting them fully land. A glimmer, a term from trauma and nervous system healing work, refers to a small moment of safety, connection, or joy—a brief spark that signals to your nervous system that you’re okay. It’s the opposite of a trigger—and just as powerful.

Our minds naturally fixate on the negative, but training yourself to sit with the positive—to linger in the light—is a quiet, transformative discipline.
