Recently my friends and I decided to venture out to Asheville, NC for New Year’s weekend to enjoy a fun girls trip in the mountains. If you are looking for a trip with a mix of nature, outdoor activities, great food, views, and shopping, Asheville is for you!
Things to See & Do
Biltmore Estate
The Biltmore is a must-see in Asheville. We did the house tour, which was amazing, and explored the grounds, including the winery. The Biltmore truly looks like a castle from a fairy tale and is so fun to explore and learn about. While the house tour is recommended, simply seeing the outside of the house and touring the grounds is an experience in itself.
Omni Grove Park Inn
Inspired by one of my favorite influencers who stayed there, we decided to check out the Omni Grove Park Inn. We opted for the buffet brunch and stayed to enjoy the hotel, grab a drink, and watch the sunset. The view overlooking the mountains is breathtaking. While the brunch buffet was good, I think going there to enjoy the atmosphere and grab a drink is a great way to experience the Omni Grove Park Inn as well.
The Grove Arcade
The Grove Arcade is a beautifully preserved historical building in downtown Asheville. Inside, you’ll find charming shops and restaurants. It’s definitely worth a visit, as it is in the perfect spot to explore more of the downtown area!
Blue Ridge Parkway
For stunning overlooks of the Blue Ridge Mountains and nearby hikes, the Blue Ridge Parkway is a must-visit. Be sure to research your desired level and distance of the hike before your trip.
Restaurants and Rooftop Bars
Tupelo Honey
Tupelo Honey is a go-to spot for brunch, and it’s in a great location to walk around downtown Asheville afterward.
Modesto Trattoria
We ate dinner here on New Year’s Eve and it was so good! It has amazing and authentic Italian food with an intimate vibe.
