Did you know that your subconscious mind is the most impressionable in the first 20 minutes that you wake up? What you do in those first 20 minutes that you wake up is shown to set the entire trajectory of your day. When I heard this, it changed my entire perspective on my morning routine.
As I have gotten older, I have realized that it really is the small changes that add up to cultivate the greatest growth. I used to not want to believe that because I wanted results instantly. I hated waiting on results, but you reap what you sow and whatever it is that you put your time and effort into will eventually come to fruition. That is why it is so important to be aware of what we pour our energy into because it will be accounted for. The word “routine” can sound so mundane, but it is in these routines that we will see growth. So how can we use our morning routine to increase productivity, mindfulness, and overall wellness? Let’s get into it.
A well known life coach, Kevin P. Martin, breaks it down into 3 words; mindset, movement, and motivation. I absolutely love this breakdown because I think it covers all the bases in the best morning routine and it can be implemented in so many different ways. We not only have different schedules, but we all are created differently, so to say the same exact routine would work perfectly for everyone would be foolish. I am going to identify the 3 words, and then share the list I have compiled that you can implement into your morning routine!
Mindset
This is all about keeping the big picture, while making your intentions clear for each day. When we have the right mindset we tend to be more positive, calm, and productive. Here are some ways you can get your mindset right in the morning:
- Journaling
- Making a to-do list to cross off throughout the day
- Self reflect; Ask yourself what you want to get out of the day ahead of you
- Meditate on good things
- Pray
Movement
This looks different for everyone but it is essentially just moving your body in a way that you enjoy, whether that is a full blown working or just some stretching. Here are some ways you can move your body in the morning:
- Go to the gym
- Work out at home
- Stretch
- Dance
- Yoga
Motivation
This step is very personal to you. Do whatever you need to do to inspire you to get up in the morning and go after the day ahead of you! Here are some ideas you could implement:
- Make your bed/ clean up your space
- Read / Listen to a podcast
- Put on your favorite playlist
What an inspiration you are!!! Love the read and will love the results!! Thanks Brooke 💗
